Here are a few more helpful tips:
My Windows account is "Locked Out".
If you type in your password incorrectly 5 times within 30 minutes the network will LOCK your account. This is to prevent HACKERS from repeatedly trying to guess your password. Your account will automatically unlock after 30 minutes or we can unlock you manually.
Windows will not take my password.
Your password is case-sensitive. Check to make sure the CAPS-LOCK key is not turned on. If you have numbers in your password, make sure the NUM-LOCK key is ON. Try using the numbers on the top of the keyboard. Make sure the correct name is listed. One of us in the IT-Dept may have logged on and it may have our name instead. Also check to make sure the domain listed shows the company your work for.
My password is expired.
Some passwords expire every 30-60 days. When your Windows password has less than a week left, it will give you a count down every morning when you logon to Windows (assuming that you either Logoff or Shutdown every night).
I think my computer has a VIRUS.
Every computer should be running Symantec/Norton Anti-Virus. You should see a yellow shield in the system tray (area in lower right corner by clock). If you double-click the yellow shield to open Norton Anti-Virus program, your virus definition file should be dated within the week.
